COURSE DESCRIPTIONS*

All levels

 

These classes are the foundation of Iyengar yoga. Participants learn a variety of asanas that build strength, stability and increase flexibility. This course is recommended for first time students and those who are new to the Iyengar method. A variety of asansas are introduced including the basics of Sarvangasana (shoulderstand).

 

 


Iyengar Yoga is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. The asanas (postures) can be adapted to suit individual needs, paying attention to correct body alignment. Regular practice of yoga helps increase mobility, stability, strength and flexibility.


General

 

For experienced Iyengar Yoga students who have regularly attended All Levels classes for a minimum of six months. These classes build stamina and explore a wide variety of asanas, including inversions.

Restorative

 

This restorative class eases stress through supported asanas and breath awareness. This class is especially beneficial for students with physical or health challenges. Individual programs are given specifically for their requirements.

This class is perfect for those who consider themselves too stiff to do yoga!

Pre-natal participants are shown how to stretch and relax to prepare for childbirth. They may begin the program with their midwife/doctor’s approval.

Post natal participants learn to regain their strength and stamina allowing them to move on to the Basic course. Particpants may begin six weeks after delivery.
